About Us

On Dehart Street in downtown Morristown, Homestead Bar & Kitchen runs a schedule that most spots wouldn't dare attempt: a full kitchen turning out fresh flatbreads and shareable bites alongside a bar stocked deep enough to keep any round interesting. Tuesday nights belong to line dancing, and regulars show up early to snag a table and a plate before the floor fills up.

The room has the energy of a place that knows what it is. Sports on the screens, a full bar, and a menu built for grazing. The burrata flatbread has become a word-of-mouth standby, with a crispy crust and toppings that actually taste like someone thought about them. It's the kind of dish that makes you glad you arrived before the crowd.

Homestead draws a mix of after-work regulars, date-night couples, and visitors who heard the buzz from across the river. The bar is the anchor, the food earns its keep, and the live events give people a reason to come back on a weeknight when most places go quiet.

What We Offer

The bar program at Homestead Bar & Kitchen runs the full range: draft beer, a rotating cocktail list, and a back bar that can handle whatever you're in the mood for. Happy hour draws the after-work crowd, and the drink selection holds up well into the evening.

The kitchen keeps pace with a menu built around bold flatbreads, shareable starters, and satisfying mains that pair well with a second round. The burrata flatbread is the crowd favorite, but the full menu gives you plenty of reasons to explore. Food comes out of the kitchen with enough care that it doesn't feel like an afterthought to the bar side of the house.

Beyond the everyday, Homestead runs live events that set it apart from the standard bar scene. Tuesday line dancing is the flagship, but the calendar stays active with themed nights and special programming. Private event bookings are available for groups looking to take over a corner of the room.

"Came on a Tuesday night for the line dancing. I arrived early to try the burrata flatbread special, and it did not disappoint. It was a delicious dinner with fresh toppings and a nice crispy crust. The bartenders took good care of me refilling my water. The gal in the glasses was super sweet, and helpful in answering my questions. I’m new to NJ from AZ, so I’m very familiar with the southwest country dance scene. The only thing that annoyed me was how the DJ wasn’t the best. He favored the newer and boppy dances that fewer people knew, while telling the old school/ traditional dancers for copperhead road to dance on the upper level. There were a handful of songs where very few folks knew how to dance to, and the rest of the crowd was left to stand around and just watch. To improve, I think the DJ could arrange the songs so that there were alternating country music and pop songs. The night started with country and then transitioned to just pop. Queuing the songs to alternate would allow everyone to join in the songs they prefer, and it’d let the dance floor shift as people take rest/refill breaks. I think the line dancing events are new for Homestead. It’ll take a bit of treaking to find out what works best for them. I can’t wait to return for the next country line dancing night!"

"A fun atmosphere, full bar and service staff that takes a while to recognize they have a new customer. Not sure why that happens, having a Barkeep ignore you is frustrating. The beer and drink choices are good however the bar food coming out of the kitchen, I would suggest to order food in another Morristown eatery. My recommendation to revamp the kitchen to deliver better quality and serve the food hot, it sits around too long to be delivered to your table/bar. Simple things can make or break a place, so please take this as constructive advise."

"I had one of the worst experiences of my life here last night. I’m from NYC and had always heard that NJ has great spots, but this place was extremely disappointing. After having dinner, we went to this bar. One of my friends wasn’t feeling well, and instead of handling the situation with basic care or professionalism, one of the security guards told her she couldn’t stay and tried to physically force her out. I told them not to touch her because we were already leaving. Despite that, another security guard came over and aggressively removed me from the place as if we had done something terrible. There was absolutely no attempt to handle the situation respectfully or de-escalate. The security staff was unnecessarily aggressive and completely unprepared to deal with guests in a humane and professional way. It was shocking and honestly frightening. Places like this should understand that women deserve to feel safe, not manhandled by security for no reason. Based on my experience, this is not a safe or respectful environment for women. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before going here."

"We recently hosted our staff holiday party at Homestead Bar & Kitchen in Morristown, NJ, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The event planners were so easy to work with. The event staff were very attentive, food was delicious and accommodating to our dietary restrictions, and everyone went above and beyond! The private space upstairs mezzanine was the highlight—it provided the perfect, intimate setting for our group to gather and celebrate the season. A huge thank you to Deanna, Sara, and the entire Homestead team for their incredible hospitality and hard work. If you’re looking for a venue with a private space, great atmosphere, and a professional team, I highly recommend them. We look forward to hosting more events here in the future!"
